Clunie Range Comments: He has growth in the top 10% of the national herd, but it is his incredible thickness, shape, depth, and length that impresses with this bull. Scanned 121cm EMA and 7.3 IMF% and shows you can have muscle and marbling. His dam, Vanessa B171 has the runs on the board with 10 natural calves to date, and her bull calf last year sold as Lot 2 make $15,000.00.

In 2017, Gary and Jessie attended the annual Clunie Range Bull Sale with 35 chosen out of 140 bulls offered for sale with the task of securing 1 stand out sire to be used over our "stud" females at Taylors Plains.

Upon arriving at Clunie Range, we quickly realised we were spoilt for choice, however, Lot 7 Clunie Range Leap Year ticked every box of our criteria and is very difficult the fault, in both his temperament and structure. Leap Year displays extra softness with an incredible IMF% of 7.3% however, he is also a meat producing powerhouse with an EMAcm2 of 121cm. These particular raw data figures alerted us to his enormous potential as an Angus sire whose progeny would be ideally suited for F1 Wagyu Production. Tipping the scales at 906kg at just 23 months of age, it was very apparent that this bull will do wonderous things for the entire Chiconi Grazing herd.

With his docile temperament, easy fleshing, depth of genetics and excellent fat coverage, we look forward to Leap Years' progeny and carcase data.
